Eliza Compton is a Paris-based freelance travel writer, sub-editor and teacher. Before moving to the City of Light in 2012, she spent a decade at Fairfax Media in Sydney and has contributed to publications such as Marie Claire Australia, Qantas in-flight magazines, The Sun-Herald, The Saturday Paper and Escape. Her favourite type of travel involves horse-riding or swing dancing. The best experiences? Galloping through the Carpathian foothills in Romania and dancing the shim-sham on Florence’s Ponte Vecchio.
