Perfectly placed in the hippest part of Mitte, just north of the Spree river, this hotel is also five minutes’ walk from Museum Island. Rooms have high ceilings and the suites are spacious (they’ll offer a free upgrade if the hotel isn’t full). The reception area and lounge bar aren’t showy, but everywhere is quietly stylish with nice touches like a brass chimney breast here and an unusual window frame there. The terrace bar on the fifth floor is often not busy and there’s a good view of the Fernsehturm television tower over the rooftops. In the mornings, breakfast is served in the pretty courtyard or the airy dining room on the ground floor.
