Handily located next to the equally enchanting Conservatory Archives, this gift shop inspired by the Galápagos islands and the natural world is a godsend if you’re looking for an original and unusual gift. From plants, books and stationery to prints, ceramics and toys there’s something to please everyone, all of it in a beautifully themed two-storey space separated into a green zone (land) and a blue zone (marine and astronomy). Expect to unearth all manner of little wonders in both (including, magically, Murloc the pet chameleon), much of it at little prices too, like the shark teeth at £3 and flora in resin for £4. Darwin’s description of the Galápagos was a ‘little world within itself,’ which perfectly describes this lovely little shop too.
