Nusantara is the spin-off of Locavore, Indonesia’s finest restaurant, and serves exceptional modern Indonesian cuisine at slightly lower prices. Getting a table is a helluva lot easier too. The setting is simple but stylish – modern bentwood chairs and plain wooden tables – but the food is sensational; every dish is beautifully put together, with careful Indonesian spicing: hand-made rice crackers appear with five different-strength chilli sambals (hot to very hot), followed by the likes of cakalang fish with turmeric, red snapper with lemongrass, and stir-fried banana blossom with garlic, chilli and lime leaves. Service is friendly and knowledgeable, the wine list is impressive, and one of the best meals you'll ever eat will come to around £50 (for two, including wine and service). Head over to nearby Night Rooster for a nightcap cocktail.
