Miller's Thumb opened in the mid-'90s, which might explain the seemingly Tic Tac-inspired orange and lime decor. But you're paying this place a visit for your tastebuds' sake, not your Instagram feed. The busy but efficient staff will bring over a menu offering a few of the usual suspects – calamari, Thai green curry, salads – as well as fish or steak. You must get either fish or steak. Ask the staff to help you choose from the super fresh catches of the day that are listed in colourful chalk on the boards; this being South Africa the spread is impressive and there may be unfamiliar options on offer. Whatever you go for will be cooked with confidence and expertise, completely delicious, and set you back less than 200 rand.
