This bar-restaurant has occupied its corner spot for decades, always relishing its local appeal and flavour. Recently it was taken over by four savvy hospitality entrepreneurs with a reputation for making the classics more current while respecting tradition. They have achieved this perfectly here. The cosy teal and pink room is dominated by an old oak bar with huge Art Deco-style lights while the street terrace is a meeting place for wealthy Sablonistas and young professionals. Reasonably-priced food is served all day, including breakfast. The menu is tapas-based with an additional seafood bar at weekends. By day, a classic local café, by night something much livelier – whatever the time o’clock, Chez Richard dials it up.
