Dock yourself at this tiny, atmospheric cake and dessert bar, the brainchild of husband-and-wife team Stephanie and Jaime Garbutt. Jaime arrived in Norwich via the kitchens of Marcus Wareing, Gordon Ramsey, Galton Blackiston, and Yotam Ottolenghi so knows a thing or two about cakes, pastries and puddings. Try the famed gianduja chocolate brownies or a coffee and walnut financier. From noon, the sublime dessert menu kicks in. Sit at the communal table or a window seat and order up something like white chocolate and lemongrass mousse with pistachio and almond nougatine, or a Snickers – salted butter caramel with peanut parfait and chocolate mousse. There’s also top-notch coffee, as well as a short but well-curated wine list that puts the icing on the – well, yes – cake.
