It’s not weird to find great food in the north side of Bristol, but Sky Kong Kong will still take you by surprise. The teeny restaurant is in a grubby old shopping precinct just off a roundabout on the A38. And yet somehow a meal there is as refreshing as a mindfulness class on a tropical island. Chef Wizzy’s set menu is entirely organic and changes daily according to the ingredients she’s sourced (or grown), but often includes Korean specialities such as gingery grilled seabass, tender beef bulgogi and fiery homemade kimchi. The whole beautifully fresh and inventive meal will set you back just £12.50 and it’s BYO. You’ll forget all about the roundabout.
