This place looks like any other tapas joint and deliberately so, but it's anything but ordinary. Owned by Michelin-starred chef Carles Abellan, this lively basement bar and restaurant is hard to get into. If you arrive after 8pm, you will probably need to queue, but it's so worth the wait. Sit at the bar, and the friendly waiters will help you make the right decision (tip: The 'Bomba de la Barceloneta' – divine creamy meatballs – are not to be missed) or there's a chalk board full of tempting daily specials. Take your time and wash it all down with a glass of Cava or two. If you have any room left, try the divine chocolate with salt and olive oil.
