A short walk from Shinjuku station, a bird's-eye view of the city awaits you from the top of the twin towers of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. This view may be a worth a million dollars (or yen) but in comparison to its more famous cousins, the Tokyo Tower and the Tokyo Skytree, it won’t cost you anything, although you may be tempted by the gift shop and restaurant. Take the lift up to the 45th floor to the dizzying height of 202 metres above ground for 360° views from the glass observation deck. The skyline is breathtaking, showcasing Tokyo's neon-lit magnificence by night, or by day the possibility of glimpsing Mount Fuji. Open until 11pm every day.
