Who knew? Bangkok bustles with jazz clubs and bars. You'll find returning travellers raving about the local music scene. So having arrived, and acclimatised (no easy task when you land in 30°+ heat at 6am) sidle up to some hipster youth and ask them where to go. Or, take your bedraggled, heat-induced stupor and steer it to the Sky Train Jazz Club, a tiny fifth-floor open-air bar in the lively Sukhumvit area, and you'll feel right at home. For here is cheap drink, fashionable locals, ramshackle decor with upcycled furniture and yep, weird, possibly could-be-described-as-jazz music. It's just like being at Cafe Oto, but with better food and much cheaper beer. Ahhhhhh.
