If you watched The Great Pottery Throw Down (or were transfixed by the Potter’s Wheel interlude), and fancy yourself as the next Grayson Perry, TEC runs 12-week courses and masterclasses taught by experienced potters. You’ll learn about coiling and throwing, firing and glazing and, of course, you get to take your masterpieces home. Membership to its lovely glass-fronted studios under some railway arches in Hackney is also available. If you don’t produce anything you’d want to admit to, get along to their regular ceramics sales and pick up some of the beautiful work produced by its dozens of makers. Another additional studio is open for classes and membership at E10.
