CocotteRotisserie chicken done good
Cocotte took roost in Westbourne Grove, the heart of Notting Hill a few years back, and it pretty much prides itself on being the healthy alternative to Nandos, or perhaps more of the fine dining version.
This gorgeous restaurant is bright and breezy near the front windows, warm and cosy further in – with wood panelled walls and a clean rustic feel – and serves up free-range birds imported from Evron, Pays de la Loire in France.
The menu is simple offering whole, half or quartered marinated roast chicken alongside colourful and delicious salads, seriously incredible baby roast potatoes, and for afters super cute desserts.
As long as you're a meat-eater you can't go wrong with roast chicken done well and Cocotte do it really well. Personally, we think it's the secret recipe of herbs and spices the chicken's marinated in for 24hrs before being slow cooked and finished on the spit that does it. And if you're not into chicken you'll still love it because of the salads. To give just one example: the Raymonde salad is made up of quinoa, bulgar, yellow pepper, cherry tomatoes, radish, peas, dried grapes, and a miso dressing. So so good. Best of all the prices are beyond reasonable. You can tell we like it. A decent wine list and a happy crowd only add to its charm.
Cocotte is a winner. Shh... they've got an outlet in Hoxton too!
