We are all individuals! (“I’m not!”)
In a world where it’s currently something of a challenge to find inspiration and hope amongst our world leaders (who all look a bit….. similar?), Round Table Books offers a treasure-trove of heroes celebrating diversity and difference.
The shop, which stocks inclusive-only children’s books, started life as a pop-up in October 2018, and following a huge crowd-funding campaign, now has a permanent home in Brixton Village.
Khadija Osman runs the show and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of children’s titles; tell her the kind of book you like to read and she’ll offer up a tempting pile of candidates. From picture books to young adult novels, there is something here for everyone, and they are cooking up more – the back of the shop is home to Knights Of, a publishing house dedicated to reflecting a true likeness of the world.
Keep your eye on the shop’s social media for events, and tell Peter and Jane to make some room on the bookshelf.
