Crouch End is one of London’s most pleasant villages, with a Victorian Clock tower, Modernist Town Hall (currently an arts centre) and handsome parades of largely independent shops, cafés and restaurants. The lack of a tube station creates a friendly atmosphere – only residents and their friends tend to come here. But it’s a great place for a spot of mooching and there are lots of activities to enjoy besides shopping in the surrounding green spaces, at the two cinemas, the large library and a well-established comedy club, downstairs at the King’s Head pub.
