Do & Eat: Faubourg Marigny, New OrleansGet your fill of live music, local seafood and craft beer
Make your way over to Frenchmen Street in the late afternoon to enjoy an hour or two of live music at The Spotted Cat Music Club – what you'll hear is a line-up of authentic New Orleans jazz, blues and funk. When you start to feel peckish, head across the street, taking in the classically colourful and balconied buildings (unscathed by the floods brought by Katrina as Marigny is one of the highest points in the city) to the Marigny Brasserie where you can enjoy a leisurely meal of local specialities while watching the world go by. Finally, meander down Frenchmen through the crowds and turn left onto Decatur St, where you can sample the beers from the Brieux Carré craft brewery.
