3 pre-show drink spots in SohoWhere to get a drink in Theatreland

Soho is a conundrum. Some see it as a maze of tourists and trinkets, others as the unavoidable consequence of scoring tickets to that hot West End musical. We, however, embrace its sights, sounds, temptations… and endless possibilities for a pre-show drink. Especially with a good address or two tucked into our back pockets along with those Dear Evan Hansen tix.
We love the Paris-side-street vibe at The French House. Even if you haven’t stumped for premium seats for Mary Poppins at the Prince Edward, you can slide into this friendly bar for a cider or ale or Ricard aperitif. Or you could hit Milroys of Soho for a whisky tipple from its range of over 300 malts, bourbons and ryes (if it’s date night, consider booking a table at The Vault speakeasy through the bookcase out back). If you’re hungry for snacks matched with Jerusalem-inspired flavours as well as a cocktail or glass of wine, squeeze into The Palomar, where the conundrum is whether to sit at the zinc bar or in the sleek dining room.
